How it works

A slug is the readable tail of a URL. This tool lowercases the title, strips accents, and replaces spaces and punctuation with single hyphens. You can edit the result before you copy it. It does not check whether that URL already exists on your site.

Lowercase, remove accents, replace non-letters and non-numbers with hyphens, trim hyphens from the ends.

Are Hindi letters kept?

Letters outside basic Latin are removed by this slugger. Type a roman title, or edit the slug by hand.

Why are numbers kept?

Numbers are valid in a slug and often carry the meaning, as in a year or a model name.
