How it works

Large photos get rejected by forms and load slowly on a page. This tool redraws the image as JPG or WEBP at the quality you choose, and can limit the width in pixels. You see the original size and the new size before you download. Compression is lossy: a very low quality number will look soft.

Why does PNG not get much smaller?

PNG is lossless. To cut the file size, this tool exports JPG or WEBP, which throw away some detail.
